The KS Brake Test Bench is designed for investigations on any type of vehicle brake and includes the
KS Tornado fully computerized control and data acquisition system for automatic test runs.
Drum brakes and disk brakes with brake shoes or callipers can be installed according to the user's requirements and testing purposes.
The vehicle mass is simulated electrically (up to standard vehicle weight) and by adjustable sets of flywheels.
A highly dynamic servo-actuator with force and position
control operates the brakes. The braking force (lever force) is measured by a load cell.
For simulation of environmental cooling conditions, air is supplied by a controlled blower and water can
also be sprayed onto the brakes.
