ICT is a tool which introduces new ways for an automated and intelligent calibration of static and dynamic engine characteristics or adjustment of controllers.
Today’s engine control algorithms are principally map based using a highly complex structure, high number of maps and parameters to describe and control the physics for each operating condition of the combustion engine and its application.
The issue of handling this high numbers of dependencies is to describe all relevant characteristics. ICT uses Design of Experiments in order to find an acceptable compromise between amount of measurements, which means time, and a good quality of the characteristics.

With ICTReport an evaluation tool completes ICT. This tool helps the engineer to easily analyze measurement data and optimization results, with features like intersection plots and map contour plots.

The intuitive user interface enables engineers to profit from modeling and design of experiment, even if they are not familiar with these techniques. In this way, the calibration throughput can be maximized by simultaneously reduced time requirements.
